Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

After much consideration and debate, I decided not to take insurance. I can take HSA cards as payments. I am a fee-for-service provider, but I can give you an invoice that can be self-submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. There are several reasons why I chose not to accept insurance, primarily because it allows me focus on the patient and offer a significantly lower rate than the traditional dental office model without dictated restrictions.

What if i have dental treatment needs (cavities, broken tooth, etc)?

I have several collaborating dentists whom I can refer you to for any treatment needs outside of the scope of dental hygiene. If I am on-the-road doing outreach in rural communities, I will locate the nearest dentist (or one of your choosing) to refer you to for treatment and send any radiographs (x-rays) we may have taken with triage notes.

There’s no dentist on site?

Correct! As a licensed EPDH, I am authorized by the Oregon Board of Dentistry to independently provide care without the direct supervision of a dentist in rural communities, underserved areas, public health settings including (but not limited to) schools, senior centers, long-term care homes, Head Start programs, and correctional facilities. Services Allowed: Full hygiene scope, patient assessments, radiographs, fluoride treatments, scaling and root planing, temporary restorations, and prescribing fluoride, and more!
